Rachel participated in the first Preliminary round of BYU Idol. There are 3 or 4 Preliminary rounds and the winners of each will compete in April. She tied with 2 others for first and will perform again at the finale. She sang Fidelity by Regina Spektor. She said she knew she had no chance of winning so she just had fun with the song (walking out into the audience, sitting on the edge of the stage, etc.) The judges said she definitely made the wrong song choice but love her voice and want to hear her sing something more like Alicia Keyes (I really don't like Alicia Keyes, but. . . oh, well). I wish I could have been there.

That is so cool! Rachel is (and all of your kids are) so talented! Maybe we should go down for the finale. When is it?
Oh dear--we are certainly making this out to be more than it is. It was honestly just for fun and I loved it. (The finale isn't until April--but I'll be sure to keep you posted.) Love you all!
